PHIG workplaces, events and field activities are free of illegal drugs and of alcohol impairment. Owner: Safeguarding and People Lead (Sulkhan Inaishvili).
- The unlawful manufacture, distribution, possession or use of controlled substances at work or while representing PHIG is prohibited.
- Working, driving or meeting participants under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. Moderate alcohol at authorised social events is allowed only where no participant or child is present.
- An employee convicted of a drug offence connected to the workplace must inform the Head of Administration within five days; PHIG informs any donor that requires it within ten days.
- PHIG supports staff who seek help for dependency, confidentially and without penalty when help is sought before misconduct occurs.
- Tobacco and e-cigarettes are not used in PHIG premises or at events, consistent with our public health mission.
