Scope of this notice

This notice covers publichealth.ge and its Georgian section. The other platforms of the PHIG network — the Georgian Medical Journal (gmj.ge, news.gmj.ge, academy.gmj.ge), the Georgian Institute of Labour Studies (labour.edu.ge), Sheni Labs (shenilabs.ge), SupplementIndex (supplement.ge), SheniEkimi Certification (certificate.ge) and the Accreditation Canada – Georgia site (accreditation.ge) — carry their own notices; Accréditation Sans Frontières (france-asf.fr) is a separate legal entity under French law.

Nature of the content

PHIG publishes public health evidence, policy analysis, regulatory summaries, training materials and news. Nothing on this site is individual medical, legal or financial advice. Clinical resources — guidelines, infection-prevention protocols, immunisation schedules, treatment programmes — are summaries of Georgian national documents and international guidance intended for health professionals, with the source and date stated on each page; the original document and the treating clinician’s judgement prevail. Regulatory summaries are not legal advice; the text in the Legislative Herald of Georgia (matsne.gov.ge) prevails. Figures are sourced and dated on the page where they appear; where a figure comes from PHIG’s own records it is labelled as such and the record is available on request. PHIG corrects errors openly: write to info@accreditation.ge.

Independence, affiliations and what they are not

PHIG is an independent institute. References on this site to the World Health Organization, the International Labour Organization, the United Nations, the European Union and its agencies, ISQua, ASPHER, EUPHA, universities and other bodies identify sources, frameworks and prospective partners; they do not imply endorsement of PHIG, membership, accreditation or partnership unless a page states the relationship and its basis. PHIG’s actual international standing is set out, with status for each item, on the legal status and international standing page. PHIG is the official representative of Accreditation Canada in Georgia under a representation arrangement; it is not Accreditation Canada. Accreditation services are delivered by Accréditation Sans Frontières, a separate entity in alliance with PHIG. Individual roles held by PHIG’s Chair with WHO, the UN Independent Accountability Panel and other bodies are personal appointments or contracts and are not institutional relationships of PHIG unless stated.

Related parties

The Chair of PHIG founded and presides Accréditation Sans Frontières (Paris) and owns Media Holding “Sheni”, the Georgian-language media network that distributes PHIG’s public health information. Both are related parties. Transactions between PHIG and either are disclosed under Policy 01, approved by the Board without the interested person, concluded at arm’s length and listed in PHIG’s annual summary (Policy 15 §4). No PHIG grant or donor funds are paid to the Sheni network except under a written, Board-approved contract for services at market rates.

Licence and intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, PHIG’s own text, data, charts and graphics on this site are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0): you may share and adapt them with attribution to “Public Health Institute of Georgia, publichealth.ge” and a link. Third-party documents, images and data remain under their owners’ terms and are credited where used. The names and marks “Public Health Institute of Georgia”, “PHIG”, “Georgian Medical Journal”, “GMJ”, “GILS”, “RHWCO”, “Sheni Labs” and “SupplementIndex” may not be used to imply endorsement. Press and research use of the marks for identification is welcome.

Liability

PHIG takes care to publish accurate, sourced and current information but gives no warranty of completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by Georgian law PHIG is not liable for loss arising from use of this site or of external sites it links to, which are outside PHIG’s control. Automated services of the network (daily desks) operate under published rules with human editorial accountability (Policy 50).
