PHIG Policy Framework v1.2 · Policy 39 · Adopted 1 September 2026 · References: ASF Policy 33; USAID ADS 320 Branding and Marking (marking plan, “from the American people”); EU visibility rules (see Policy 13); UN/WHO visibility guidelines

1. Purpose and scope

To meet the branding and marking requirements of each donor, in addition to the EU rules set out in the Visibility and Communication Policy. Applies to the Board, the Director, staff, consultants, volunteers, experts, partners and suppliers of PHIG and all platforms of its network.

2. Policy

  1. For US awards, PHIG prepares a Branding Strategy and Marking Plan per ADS 320: the USAID Identity (or the agency’s identity) marked on programme materials and communications, co-branding with PHIG as allowed, exceptions and waivers requested where marking would endanger participants or compromise independence of research or assessments.
  2. For WHO and UN contracts, WHO/UN visibility rules apply; PHIG does not use the WHO emblem or imply WHO endorsement; outputs state the contractual relationship only as the contract permits.
  3. For every donor: the funding statement and disclaimer in the required form; no implication that the donor endorses PHIG or the network’s verdicts and editorial content.
  4. Editorial independence is protected: donor marking never appears on the Georgian Medical Journal’s editorial content, Sheni Labs verdicts or GMJ News articles beyond a factual funding acknowledgement.

3. Procedures

  1. Marking plan template; approval by the Director; donor approval where required.

Responsibilities

Project leads; Director.

Review
