1. Purpose and scope
PHIG hosts the Georgian Institute of Labour Studies and must practise what it researches: safe, healthy work for everyone who acts for it. Applies to the Board, the Director, staff, consultants, volunteers, experts, partners and suppliers of PHIG and all platforms of its network.
2. Policy
- Risk assessment of workplaces, remote work, travel and events; measures applied; first aid and emergency arrangements at events.
- Ergonomic and psychosocial risks (screen work, workload, isolation in remote work, harassment) assessed and mitigated; reasonable working hours; right to disconnect outside agreed hours.
- Accidents, occupational illness and near misses recorded and investigated under the Incident Reporting Policy; statutory reporting to the Labour Inspection Office where required.
- Wellbeing: access to support after distressing work; flexible arrangements for caring responsibilities; no retaliation for raising a safety concern.
- OSH training on induction and periodically.
3. Procedures
- OSH risk-assessment form; accident register; annual OSH report.
Responsibilities
Director (as employer’s representative); every supervisor; every person.
Review
Every two years and when donor rules change.
