1. Purpose and scope
To ensure that PHIG raises funds honestly, respectfully and transparently, and treats donors fairly. Applies to the Board, the Director, staff, consultants, volunteers, experts, partners and suppliers of PHIG and all platforms of its network.
2. Policy
- Appeals and proposals are truthful, accurate and not misleading; images and stories respect dignity and consent (Safeguarding Policy); no exaggeration of need or results.
- Funds are used for the purpose for which they were raised; restricted gifts are honoured; donors are told how funds were used.
- No pressure, no exploitation of vulnerability, no payment of commission to fundraisers as a percentage of funds raised; third-party fundraisers are bound by this policy.
- Donor data are processed under the Data Protection Policy; donors may opt out of communications at any time; donor lists are never sold or shared.
- Donors receive acknowledgement and receipts; donations above EUR 5,000 are listed by band in the annual summary; donor due diligence applies (Gift Acceptance Policy).
- Complaints about fundraising are handled under the Complaints Policy within 30 days.
3. Procedures
- Proposal review by the Director before submission; donor communication consent record.
